*** Financial institutions are increasingly making their data sets available as downloads to spreadsheets. This allows interested users to test out hypothesis they have about economic conditions or in the case of the SEC XBRL Project to compare and analyze the performance of public companies.

*** Although not as technologically sophisticated as the Google Maps API or Zillow’s new offering…we are thrilled to see these institutions provide increasing transparency and data sharing.
